Kibbutz Neot Smadar in the Israeli desert has a unique sustainable eco-friendly philosophy. Ayala’s work in Neot Smadar is composed of three parts: An organic, ecological lake used as both fish farm and irrigation reservoir, sewage treatment for industrial, agricultural and residential sewage and treatment of desalination process rejected water. The quality of water produced in Neot Smadar and the varied uses found for said water is a true testament to what can be achieved when we are attentive to nature.
